JC's British & 4X4 - Service Center

When I got an intermittent low coolant warning light on my LR4, Craig and Jeff fit me into their booked schedule for a last minute pressure test before we headed out for a camping trip to Yellowstone. Everything tested fine, so we replaced the expansion tank and sensor as a precaution. They gave me complete peace of mind towing our camper on the long trip north. Couldn’t be happier with their service!

This is the most dishonest facility I’ve ever had the displeasure of taking my vehicle, and that says a lot. I’m a former dealer service technician that now restores classic German cars as a hobby. I brought my P38 to JC’s for some HVAC repair. It took days for them to touch my rig, despite waiting two weeks for my appointment. When they finally got to it, they failed to diagnose my main concern and instead presented me a huge quote for repairs that I do not need. They found many issues during there “complimentary inspection” that are completely nonexistent. I have an acute knowledge of all of my vehicles mechanical health, and I’m more neurotic than anybody I’ve ever known. Trust me when I say, these issues were fabricated deceitfully. These foe issues include coolant leaks, which is something I’ve noticed to be a trend in the other negative reviews for this shady shop. The only issue they noted that was actually existent is a leaking oil cooler hose. Ironically, they failed to find a few other issues that I knew to exist that I actually would’ve payed them to do! They quoted me $3300 to replace blend doors and blower motors and although atrociously expensive, it is probably necessary. The scam comes in from left field when they try to get me to pay an additional $2100 for the aforementioned repairs I don’t need. I do have worn tie rod ends and a weak brake booster and somehow, they missed those two huge safety items! (I just purchased this truck and will correct these issues in the next week). Throughout it all, I never approved a dime of work because they didn’t do anything until 18 hours prior to me picking the truck up. When Jeff finally presented his findings, all while neglecting the fact that they didn’t even come close to solving the issues I came in on in the first place, I told them not to touch my truck and that I’d pick it up next day. When I got to the shop, they refused to let me speak to the tech who fabricated said diagnostics. I asked them to point out any of the leaks they tried to get me to pay for and they couldn’t. This shady business is why I did not want to spin spanners for big companies anymore. At the end of it, Jeff actually had the audacity to try to get me to pay $251 for filling my refrigerant system. I never approved this, and wouldn’t have prior to them fixing the leak I KNEW existed because it’s silly to fill up a compromised system. Luckily the service manager has some moral compass and gave me my keys back, realizing that I owed them nothing. If they would’ve hit me a $3300 quote and said “your AC will work”, I would’ve happily gone ahead with it. While explaining why my AC still wouldn’t work, Jeff literally retold me exactly what I told him the issue was 5 days prior, that’s pretty insulting. Last note: the Jeff I refer to is NOT the owner, Jeff Corwin, but rather a service advisor that works for Jeff. I’ve had no contact with the owner. The service manager was professional and didn’t seem to be ill intended. Jeff the service advisor, though, is a fraudulent service advisor that you should not trust with your Land Rover.

On at least three different occasions, I have had work done on our 2002 Land Rover DII at JC's. On each occasion, what I thought was going to be an extensive correction, turned out to be without basis. I think I can state they have always been HONEST in recommending ONLY what was required. The latest example was I thought I was going to pay for a new radiator that had a leak ($1,000). I get a call and after testing, a hose clamp was misapplied (done at another location) which the cause of the leak. Labor charge only. Thanks for running a straight-up business model and we are dedicated customers.

Jeff and Craig were extremely helpful, patient and knowledgeable as they explained the issues on my recently-purchased Range Rover, and how to best address them; they also worked with the warranty company for payment of covered items. Very happy now my car is back and plan on returning to JC's for all ongoing work. Experience was night and day better than the local dealer!

We were referred to JCs by a friend after getting an enormous quote on fixing our ten year old Range Rover. JCs came in at half the price! They were incredibly professional at every step of the process. I couldn’t ask for more. Lisa Tyler

Jeff Corwin did some amazing customized work on a 2012 Mercedes Sprinter Van that I had converted to 4x4 by White Feather Conversions. The transfer case install was just not right. So I contacted Jeff at JC's British to fix the design issues that were causing serious vibration problems. Jeff took this project on and did an excellent job in installing a proper divorced transfer case that took a lot of customized design work. Not an easy task but he was very fair on the price this amount of work this must have taken. As I first used JC Rover for my old 95 classic, I developed a great respect for the knowledge base this group has. This work done to repair a serious defect on my custom Sprinter mod illustrates that their work can transcend beyond what a standard service center can deliver. I also have to state how their attentions to maintaining safe practices in this most difficult of times with Covid-19 also shows how they are out their to keep their customers and employees as safe as practical. I can not give a higher recommendation especially for Rover owners who want some specialized work done.
